The longest River in East Java Is The Brantas River. It drains an area over 11,000 km² from the southern slope of Mount Kawi-Kelud-Buthak, Mount Wilis, and the northern slopes of Mount liman-Limas, Mount Welirang, and Mount Anjasmoro. By the Thousand years ago Brantas River valley have been lived by the People. They decided to live because of fertility land which made them can plan anything.

In Brantas River by thousand years ago was born Majapahit a great empire which had authority from Aceh until Papua. Now each time people call Brantas our mind must directed to Lapindo Mud Flow. PT. Lapindo Brantas said to be causal factor of that tragedy.
